吉米（杰森·苏戴奇斯饰）是一名重罪犯，因持械抢劫服刑12年后获得假释。出狱后，他向身患绝症的女友安妮（伊万杰琳·莉莉饰）发誓，要让她度过人生中最美好的一年。然而，事情远没有那么简单。他的假释官（希亚·温汉姆饰）给他安排了一份“兼职”，这份兼职却引发了一连串事件，使吉米成为当地黑帮老大（迈克·科尔特饰）的目标。如今，他必须竭尽全力拯救安妮，并为他们所剩无几的相处时光而战。
