在这部由获奖编剧兼导演萨姆·埃斯梅尔（黑客帝国）执导的末日惊悚片中，阿曼达（奥斯卡奖得主朱莉娅·罗伯茨饰）和她的丈夫克雷（奥斯卡奖提名人伊桑·霍克饰）租了一套豪宅，与他的孩子阿奇（查理·埃文斯饰）和罗斯（法拉·麦肯齐饰）共度周末。他们的假期很快被两个陌生人的到来打乱了——G.H.（奥斯卡奖得主马赫沙拉·阿里饰）和他的女儿露丝（米赫拉饰）——他们得知发生的事情是神秘的网络攻击，于是在他们声称是他们的房子里寻求庇护。两个家庭都面临着一场迫在眉睫的灾难，而且灾难变得越来越可怕，迫使每个人都努力在这个崩溃的世界中寻找自己的位置。《破碎的电话》改编自鲁曼·阿拉姆获得国家图书奖提名的小说。它由 EsmailCorp 和 RedOmFilms 制作，由 HigherGround Productions 监督。
