弗雷德里克·菲茨杰拉德原本过着他梦寐以求的美好生活，却突然开始出现可怕的幻觉，梦见高中时失踪的女孩辛迪。他向一位曾服用过神秘药物“水银”的老朋友寻求帮助，但最终意识到唯一的解决办法深藏在他自己的记忆之中。于是，弗雷德里克开始了令人胆战心惊的寻根之旅。
