FOX的《通道》由Liz Heldens、Matt Reeves和Scott Free制作。该项目原本计划于去年启动，但在开发到一半时宣布取消并重新制作。直到一年后，FOX才正式下令将其改编成电视剧。 该剧改编自Justin Cronin的同名畅销小说。故事中，美国正在研究一种神秘病毒，这种病毒可以治愈所有疾病，并有能力摧毁世界。Amy Bellafonte（Saniyya Sidney饰）成为这项实验的对象，FBI探员Brad Wolgast（Mark-Paul Gosselaar饰）成为她的代理父亲并保护她。
